Audit Wales letter: Response from Industry Wales

In response to a letter from the Auditor General for Wales to the Senedd’s Public Accounts Committee concerning Industry Wales’ 2023-24 accounts, CEO DR Jenifer Baxter has made the following statement:

“As is reflected in the report from Audit Wales, the issues outlined are historical and relate to a project undertaken by Industry Wales at the request of the Welsh Government between 2021-23.

“Since then, Industry Wales has already taken great strides in addressing shortfalls in governance identified following the appointment of a new CEO in March 2024.

“We have worked closely and transparently with Audit Wales throughout the process and have already implemented its recommendations in full.

“It is imperative people should have trust in organisations granted public funding and that that funding should provide clear value for money.

“With new senior leadership and clear governance procedures, Industry Wales will demonstrate that value.”
